BITE Club II implant dentistry for graduates

Dr. Nathalie Kos, BITE Club White Rock, Surrey BC

“The BITE Club was an informative introductory course for implant restorations. The instructors were very knowledgeable and approachable.”

Dr. Morris Huang, BITE Club Vancouver, New Westminster

“The BITE Club is a fantastic, non-threatening introduction to the world of implant dentistry. Although non-surgical in nature, it provides much of the basis of implant dentistry that is often missed in other workshops. The mentors are highly experienced and provide a comfortable and encouraging environment to learn and ask questions. As a young dentist, the world of implant dentistry is very confusing and does not offer a route in. I feel that, after taking the BITE Club, I am armed with much of the knowledge in assessing and treatment planning cases for implants that I would not have thought of otherwise. As a newer dentist, I highly recommend BITE club for any dentists looking to learn more about implants.”

Dr. Chanel Gallant, BITE Club Victoria, Victoria BC

“Thank you Paul for putting on an excellent course! I looked forward to it, even after a long day at work, and I thought you made the material interesting, clinically relevant, and even entertaining! I enjoyed hearing about your personal experiences/cases, and in general I enjoyed your relaxed and humorous demeanor which made the course practical, informative and interesting. You also made everyone feel very comfortable discussing and asking questions – even basic ones – without feeling embarrassed about our lack of knowledge. I would highly recommend the course for anyone interested in learning more about dental implants and I look forward to the next one.”

Dr. Mike Allan, BITE Club Vancouver, Yellowknife NT

“I would highly recommend BITE club to any 4th year dental student at UBC. The material Erikka Gilmore goes over for implants as part of the UBC curriculum during the 2 or 3 sessions is very helpful, but is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to implant dentistry. BITE Club was much more in-depth and dove much, much deeper into the restorative aspect of implant dentistry (which should come before the surgical aspect) and actually made it a lot easier to understand what Erikka was discussing in lecture. Another thing I enjoyed was being able to apply what I learned in BITE Club back in dental school clinic, as I had a couple patients who needed implants restored that were placed in the graduate perio clinic. The course has also helped me quite a bit after moving to Yellowknife, as I have had the chance to treatment plan for implants, do socket preservation after exos, refer to the specialist for implant surgery, and restore the implants when the patients return.”

Dr. Luke Hawkins, BITE Club Vancouver, Salmon Arm BC

“I really enjoyed BITE Club. Andrew and Paul are very organized and engaging. During my fourth year of dental school, the course was always circled in my calendar as something to look forward to. The lecture slides are useful, and I’ve referred back to them a few times in practice so far. Now working in Salmon Arm, I discuss implants everyday as a treatment option, typically multiple times. I wasn’t as lucky to be able to restore any implants at the UBC Clinic. If you decide to attend the course, you will be teaching your UBC classmates about implant components rather than feeling lost.”
